Qualifications and Requirements

  • Applicants must have — or be willing to obtain — the following:
  • Qualification Letter from the Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE)
  • Early Childhood Credentials (EDU 119) and/or a related degree
  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECER-S)
  • Completion of all DCDEE-required health and safety training
  • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and age-appropriate lesson planning
  • CPR/First Aid and SIDS certifications
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Experience in a licensed childcare facility (preferred)

Lead Teacher Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, nurturing classroom environment where children can learn and grow
  • Build strong, communication-based relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Creative Curriculum
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and structured learning space
  • Track daily reports and attendance accurately
  • Complete required Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually
  • Support individual child development and provide quality supervision throughout the day
